Code of Conduct
All participants (including delegates, chairs, staff, press, secretariats, advisers, and all other members) must agree and adhere to this Code of Conduct. Additionally, all chairs, delegates, and staff must agree and adhere to the Rules of Procedure for their committee. Any participant who does not comply with any of the rules may be subject to removal from Global Education City Model United Nations (GECMUN).
Dress Code
All participants must wear general western business attire during all sessions.
This rule may be partially altered by the Motion to Suspend the Rules under the discretion of the student officer and the secretariat.
If, under the decision of the secretariat, a dress code of any participant seems inappropriate, the secretariat reserves the right to deny entrance and participation for the person.
Plagiarism
Any and all types of plagiarism are strictly forbidden in GECMUN.
Plagiarism applies to both spoken and written works, such as speeches, position papers, resolutions, and amendments.
If evidence of plagiarism is found, the delegate and student officers may face consequences varying from exemption from award consideration, to expulsion from the conference.
Pre-written Resolution
Pre-written resolution is not in order in GECMUN.
If any pre-written resolution (including clauses) is found, the delegate will be exempted from award consideration.
Leaving the Committee Room
When any delegate wishes to leave the committee room, the delegate should inform the student officer and staff.
The maximum time allowed for the leave is 20 minutes unless it is an emergency that has been communicated to the secretariat.
Exceeding the maximum allowed time for any other reason may result in consequences determined by the secretariat.
Language
The official language of Global Education City Model United Nations (GECMUN) is English.
No language other than English may be spoken during official sessions.
Warnings may be given by the chair to delegates who violate this rule:
Student officers are to report delegates who continuously violate the language requirements, and the delegate may be exempted from award consideration.
Usage of Electronic Devices
Delegates may not use electronic devices during official sessions unless:
Permitted by a student officers or secretariat,
the purpose for an unmoderated caucus is to draft resolutions,

Student officers are to report delegates who continuously violate this rule to the secretariat, and the delegate may be exempted from award consideration.
Sexual Harassment
Sexual Harassment in GECMUN follows the definition and guideline provided by the Judicial Penal Code of the Republic of Korea.
Any attempt or behavior matching the terminologies and definitions of the Korean law will be considered as an act of sexual harassment:
When such action has been found by or reported to the secretariat and faculty directors, the perpetrator will immediately be expelled from the conference, along with an official report filed to the school, their parents, and the law enforcement.
Relationships
All participants (including delegates, chairs and secretariats) must retain their official position.
No personal relationships should affect
Drugs and Alcohol
The definition of drugs and alcohols (intoxicating substances) follow the definition provided by the official classification system of the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The consumption of alcohol or unprescribed drugs will be out of order:
When an unregulated substance has been found, the secretariat reserves the right to report it to the local law enforcement agencies.
If any participant is found possessing or drinking alcohol, the participant will be expelled from the conference. an official report will be filed to the school and to his or her parents. the participant may be limited to participate in future GECMUN affiliated conferences.
Smoking is not permitted during the conference for all participants.
If any participant is found smoking of any kind (including electronic cigarettes), the participant will be expelled from the conference, with an official report filed to the school and to their parent or guardian.
Health and Safety
All participants must follow the local and national health and safety protocols and regulations.
For offline conferences, all rules in the GECMUN Health and Safety Protocols are strictly enforced.
Face coverings (masks), other personal protection equipment, and social distancing are required for all participants during the offline conference.
Face coverings cannot be taken off at any point during the offline conference (including speeches), except for the purpose of eating or drinking.
Social distancing must be adhered to at all times during the offline conference.
If safety is in jeopardy, the director and secretariat may decide certain committees, sessions, and/or the conference as a whole to switch to a safer environment such as an online conference.
